A Review of Riddex Electronic Pest Control System
There are many electronic pest control devices on the market these days. Riddex electronic pest control is a popular one. It makes a lot of ambitious claims about its effectiveness. A closer examination may be in order.
How it Works
The Riddex electronic pest control device is said to work by sending a digital pulse throughout a house through the house’s electrical system. This is said to put up a barrier that push pests from their hiding places and out of your home. It is said to work by making pest and vermin so uncomfortable they have to leave, kind of like what you would do to drive out a guest who's overstayed their welcome.
The Riddex pest control website offers one testimonial after another attesting to the effectiveness of the product. It also states that it is scientifically proven to work in ridding your home of pests. But there are troubles with these arguments.
Show Me the Science
While science is cited, no specific study has been shown. In fact, there is no study out there that proves the effectiveness. Anecdotal evidence which is in abundance is not scientific and may be based on false assumptions. While it would be easy to test, chances are this scientific evidence will not be delivered as it will probably go against the manufacturers claims.
Further, the Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning to consumers regarding the Riddex electronic pest control device. It has warned that these devices are not proven effective and cannot be trusted to do what they are designed to do. Buyers should take this into account before shelling out twenty dollars a piece for these devices.
Too Good to Be True
Consumers come to these scams with good intentions. It is a fact that pesticides are dangerous to everyone. Anything that can rid us of pests and save the environment is a good thing. The problem is when those people such as Riddex take advantage of conscience and offer ineffective and deceptive products that don’t work.
If it seems too good to be true it probably is. I realize this is a cynical age, but there it is. You shouldn’t believe everything you see on tv or the internet. It is always best to consult reviews and consumer protection agencies before buying an untried product. It doesn’t really take a lot of digging to determine that the Riddex electronic pest control device does not work. A little homework can ultimately save time and money and that will be worth it in the long run.
